Lift Kit Options and Advice

Hello. I recently got a great deal (I think) on an 07 Precedent. The owner was selling it because "he was tired of fooling with it". When I asked about "what" he was tired of fooling with I was told "he's already bought a new cart because he was tired of the way this one drives". My limited test drive was ok, so I took it. The front tires were bald (Mojave II's 22x10.5x12) but the rear tires looked great. Once I got it home I took it for a test drive and was really scared once the cart got up to speed - the steering wheel was VERY sensitive, I felt like the cart could just jerk and flip over pretty quickly. I moved the bald tires to the back thinking that it may help - it didn't. I did some homework and found that the cart had a 6" RHOX spindle kit. I did my best to fine tune the toe and camber using instructions from the internet - it really didn't help. I called around to a few local cart places and MOST of them told me that I should expect that behavior from a 6" spindle kit - there's NO WAY that can be true, lots of folks have them. So I took the cart in to one of the local guys to let them have a look at it and give me some advice. He took it for a long ride, came back and said that the toe was a little off, but that "squirreliness" was exactly what you get from a 6" spindle, and that I'd have to learn to drive it and would definitely need to keep the kids off of it.

So. I'd like to replace the cheaper spindle with a nicer kit. I'm considering the 4" Jake's A Arm kit after reading through this forum and a few others. MOST of the time the cart will be in our neighborhood riding on paved roads and only occasionally going on beach trips, but never actually going onto the beach. So I'm considering a street tread tire like the Street Fox. I want the ride to be comfortable AND safe. I don't care about the "look" so much - what I have now (6" life with the Mojaves) is a bit much. I've read a few posts that talk about lost ground clearance with the A Arm lift, can anyone shed some light on that? Would a 20" versus a 22" tire give me better control? What about a 10" versus 12" wheel? I'm seeking the community's advice because I have a very limited experience with this, and I don't want the dealer to talk me into/out-of something based on his desire to make a buck.

Thanks!
