Hi guys;
I'm a newbie and hope I'm asking this question in the right place.
I have 1983 Yamaha G1 Golf Cart that I got a great deal on because it didn't run. Pulled the jug and found a broken piston. I bought an oversize piston/ring kit (Nivel brand p/n J10-11638-00-00 - Taiwan) and had cylinder bored to 4th oversize (because of scoring). My question is: the rings have no markings and appear to be identical whereas the original Yamaha rings were marked RN (upper) and R (lower). Emailed the retailer who says it makes no difference which goes on top or bottom. I figure Yamaha must have had a reason for using different rings in each groove. Anyone have experience using these "generic" rings? Were they OK?
Thanks
