I just replaced all the solenoids on my 1979 caroche even though only one was bad. It now runs great in reverse but very sluggish forward. like the batteries are bad, though the're fine and charged and the wires have all been upgraded. the guy who helped me with the solenoids said the reverse fine and forward bad thing is usually a sign the motor is bad. it is after all a 37 years old motor so I'm ok if that's the case. My question is should I have it rewound or replace it??? and if I replace it, with what??? I'll never find anouther 79 motor...I've been checking for the past month. can I use a newer 36 volt motor??? any help will be appreciated. PS... it has been getting slower in forward the past few years.. even before the solenoid issue.
