Lester E series charger

I just tried a Lester E series charger to replace a Mac charger thats been giving problems. When i connect the Lester to this Yamaha it clicks, but the amp needle doesn't move? The Batt Voltage is 49.2. I checked all the wires and they check out Ok. Is the Voltage hi enough to cause the charger to not charge??
