using floorjack on gear housing pan

I have been using a floorjack, for years , to jack up the rear end of golf carts.

Alot of times, i put the jack under the differntial gear housing pan and lift.

Is this ok? Am i risking damage? Have i just been lucky so far?

Sometimes, one side of the rear axle is long enough that i can get the jack under the axle tube, but the other side is much shorter, so i go under the pan.
