97 FE350 engine rebuild, crank scored

So I've mentioned this one a few times in other threads. It was knocking bad. Pulled it out yesterday and tore it down. Connecting rod had some play, but after removing it it looks fine, no marks wear or scoring on the rod or the crank. The right side balance link rod is the big problem. Lots of play in that. Pressed the camshaft timing drive gear off and pulled the link rod off and the crank is scored really bad. Ill post pics later.

So now I'm trying to figure out the best option here.

1. Used engine. Probably the least expensive option off the bat. Gets the cart back up and running, assuming its in good running shape. Problem is finding one.

2. Used Crankshaft. But how often does a used FE350 crank come up or sale, without there being the rest of the engine attached to it.

3. Build-up and re-machine the crank and install new link rods. There is a machine shop nearby which can do this, but the cost of machine work and new rods, piston, rings, etc.?
Or does club car sell undersized link rods? Could I just have the crank machined down to match an undersized rod?

4. Brand new crank. (over $500) plus new connecting rod, piston, bearings etc.

5. ?

6. New used cart. Looks like the going rate for a transport/village/other 4 seat cart with cargo bed or rear flip seat is 5-8Gs.

Any opinions or help much appreciated!
