I have a 1992 Club Car gas, often times when trying to start it, it does not turn over but squeals (while looking at the belt(s) I do not see either one slipping. Can a bad clutch cause engine to be locked up and not turn over? Is their something internal to the clutch that would sound like a belt squealing? Can I remove the drive belt and try running it with no adverse effect on the clutches? I have seen opinions not to every run without the drive belt installed, just looking for another opinion. One other thought about this problem, could something internal in the motor starter generator make a squealing noise? If I keep hitting the gas peddle numerous times, then the engine turns over and starts.
