1995 club car came to and quick stop !!!

I was on the golf course today and was playing a pretty good game 8) then when I was heading down the cart path to hit my next shot the club car came to a quick stop like I put on the brakes hard. Now when I push on the peddle the cart will not move but it feels like it is trying to move, but when I let off the peddle I can push the cart by hand. Both in forward and reverse. It is a 1995 Club car.

Any help would be appreciated
