Greetings from Hotlanta,
Have had a Yamaha G16 for several years and the wife finally gave the OK to do some mods. It is stock and I'm interested in converting it for off road travel in the NC mountains area (mostly old logging roads).
So, preliminary reading seems to offer the same two options that are available on pick up trucks - spacers (economy) and full suspension kits (notsocheap). Can anyone offer any pros/cons why one would be better than the other on a cart or should I just apply the same mechanical logic from autos to cart?
Tire offsets - same as trucks? At what size do I need to start considering spacers?
My cart is non governed - will I need to do any torque mods once I install the lift/off road tires?
Skid plates - do they exist and do they benefit anything?
We aren't going to do any extreme driving, the logging roads are maintained so it's not like we'll be stump jumpin. I'm waffling between 4" and 6", leaning more toward 4" for stability. Would like to add a f/r brushguard and maybe LED lights.
All experience and advice is greatly appreciated, tia!:occasion5:
