Splash Pan a good idea?

Has anyone every installed one of theses splash pans in there cart? We drive our carts around in the mud/gravel/snow/salt. With all of those mixed together its doing some bad work on my controllers/wires. I would just foam seal the areas up but im worried about when it gets hot in the summer. Any ideas would be great!
