California Lifan 420cc

Well my new Lifan is a California model/ no big deal i suppose. I did need to pick your brains though if i could.

I have seen differing crankcase ventilation breathers etc etc/ let me describe my Cali egr type crap that camae on mine.


Fuel tank vent line runs down to charcoal filter, no big deal/ not hurting a thing,.. I'll leave it alone.

Air cleaner assembly housing/ choke housing etc,.. Bottom of said assembly line runs down to charcoal canister.. Cant see where it hurts anything/ i'll likely leave it.

This one i am curious about: vavle cover is vented to the air cleaner housing~ this one i have seen folks put a breather on and plug the air cleaner port.. Is it hurting performance in any way by being left in tact? (Raised intake air temps perhaps,.. Marginal loss more than likely)


Lastly, if i do crack the crankcase,.. If i remove the governor rod should or should i not vent the crankcase there where the hole for the rod was? (I seem to recal seeing a you tube video where the guy did that for some reason)

(Ok one more question LOL..) Could anyone suggest a favorite video on how to remove the governor and fab up a throttle linkage? There are many,.. And many are piss poor..)
