First time cart owner, new to the forum. First of all thank you for all the good detail that I have been able to sift through.

I started with a 95 Club Car DS (ingrersoll rand), which I believe is a series cart because there is no tow switch. As far a v-glide or resistors, I am not sure if there is an easy way to tell or if it matters.

The purpose of the cart will be to go through the neighborhood in florida (flat). I plan on making it street legal with a back seat (mainly cruising with 1-2 people). So far I have done the following:

Upgrades
  1. Jakes 6” Spindle Lift
  2. 14” wheels and all terrain tires
  3. 6 x 8v Trojan batteries
  4. trailer hitch
  5. 4g wire between the batteries
Street legal items:
  1. head lights, tail lights, blinker (48v to 12v reduction)
  2. Slow speed Vehicle sign
  3. Rear view mirror
As far as performance, it currently goes 14mph on a GPS and is not very torquey. Here is what want to do:

Still needed for street legal
  1. Seat belts
  2. Side mirrors
  3. New windshield
  4. Wiper
Other Wants
  1. back seat
Performance - this is where I need some help. I would like a 24-30mph cart, torque is nice too but speed #1
  • Need new 4g cables (outside of the ones I bought that go battery to battery)
  • Option 1.) Send motor to plumb quick for rework~$250 Bandit Motor
  • Option 2.) new motor/ controller/ F&R switch/ solenoid

I would like to be cost conscious on the performance, as I know you can get excessive quick. Anyone that has experience in the two options mentioned above, I would love to hear your feedback.

Thank you in advance
