While investigating rear wheel noise, discovered hub and axle splines were worn. Going to try new hubs, and in the process noticed the driver side axle has about 1/8 inch in and out play in the housing. (this is without hub and castle bolt attached). Without pulling the axle, the outer bearing appears to be in good condition (the axle play is through the bearing, not the bearing moving.) Is this normal ? There is no play in the passenger side. In reassembly, should the castle bolt be torqued tight ? Any help appreciated.
