I picked up a 2011 EZGO 48V TXT. It was a golf course cart, but it's in pretty decent shape and has 2015 US Batteries.
I have no experience with golf carts, and generally no idea what I'm doing. I wanted this to be a fun weekend hobby where I could learn a thing or two, and hopefully end up with a cool cart for beefing around the neighborhood.
First things first:
-Removed the golf stuff (ball cleaner, bag cover, etc).
-Centered the steering wheel by unhooking the steering linkage at the front end to center things up.
-Gave the cart about 1/8" toe-in so it wasn't so squirrely in a straight line. It came to me with a little bit of toe-out.
-At this point it will top out around 17mph according to a phone GPS app.
