RXV to fast?

My wholesaler had this random 2017 lithium hit their lot and made me a good deal on it.

I'm guessing it's an Elite but it just has standard badges on it.

My question is, how fast are these normally? Right now in stock form it breaks the tires loose and throws you back and gets to 28 MPH all most instantly. Its FAST. If the ground is damp or your on an incline it will literally smoke the tires.

I plan on keeping the cart for myself but I'm kind of worried that when I swap to 14" wheels with 225/30/14 tires it's going to hit 31-33 MPH. The 14s are a 7" wide wheel so they will be more stable. I also plan to run 1" wheel spacers to widen the track some.

Will this be enough? Do I need to add brakes or consider turning it down?

I kinda like it but I'm also worried when others drive it they may hurt someone.

Removing rev limiter on 2018 Ezgo L6

I have a 2018 gas ezgo express l6. I got it going 19mph but anything after that it will constantly hit the rev limiter. The same golf cart in my neighborhood blows by me doing 23mph+.

I’m not looking to go 30mph but I’d like 23mph. I also don’t want to ruin the cart either.

Thank you!

What charging system? Briggs v twin 18hp

The model number is 360447
Type: 1209-A1
Code : 96120411

Vanguard v twin. I’ve been having problems for the last year with my battery charging. We only use the cart at the river so I can’t remember if it was after I put amp on or before. Regardless. The battery won’t stay charged after one evening of driving around.

I have a 2 channel 200w alpine amp , 2 head lights, stereo and 2 gauges. So if it’s not keeping a charge due to what I’m pulling I’ll add an alternator. But my buddies and I don’t ever remembering this in years past

So does anyone know what charging system I have? I have carb off and adjusting valves so I can’t really turn it over. Thx

Hello
I have a 2010 DS with a FE290 engine, I think the starter is getting weak. Occasionally it won't start and I can rotate the starter/belt a few times then it starts fine. Any recommendations on a site for a new starter? I see a lot of bad reviews on the non OEM starters.
Thanks!

Start/Gen Reversed A1/F2 Connections???

I bought a used Yamaha G2 Gas Golf Cart (J38-07s 1988 model), and am knee deep in learning about it. Looks like the battery isn't charging properly - I've researched and found some good info on how to test the generator, voltage regulator, etc.

If I charge the battery up on a wall charger, it will start run for awhile pretty good, but the battery will eventually die.

MY MAIN CONCERN: I found a wiring diagram, and have initial concerns that someone hooked up the A1 and F2 terminals incorrectly (swapped). I'm thinking this might be the issue, but wanted to make sure I was reading this correctly before I swapped them around. Please take a look at this picture of my cart (I've labeled the posts as they are stamped on generator), and wiring diagram and tell me if I am crazy (attached).

Thank you in advance!
-Brad

Hi Guys,

I am rebuilding a trail buggy which I was told uses a golf cart rear axle. I need to take the axle apart to remove it from the frame, so I'm looking for some help ID'ing to track down a manual. There are no obvious distinguishing marks on the casing.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

I had to buy a new motor for this stealth and I marked all wires when I sent motor in to be rebuilt but it could not be repaired so when they sent new motor the wires I marked stayed with old motor, I have two small yellow wires coming from brush end of motor and the wires they splice to are yellow and blue with a white stripe , no idea which yellow wire goes where, anyone out there ever had any experience with this?

Tomberlin Vanish Upgrade

Hey guys I’m wanting to change over my motor, controller and pedal to EZgo. I don’t care about speed. I only care about torque. I will only be using it to get into my hunting spots. It’s very steep hills. That’s the only reason I’m not going with a golf cart. It has an electrical problem so I’m going to gut the electronics and start fresh. Any recommendations on motor and controller before I buy in the blind?

need to determine if controller is dead

I am pretty sure my controller is bad, but want to rule out other options prior to spending several hundred on a new controller.

background- I have a 2005 ezgo, 36v, PDS (f/r on dash) with brand new batteries this year. ran perfectly fine. I bought it used from a shop, and it had a orange flashing beacon light on the top. I bought a 20" led light bar to replace the orange light with and (stupidly without thinking) I used the existing wiring from the beacon light. I hooked it up and shortly after turning the light on, it blew and I lost all power to the cart. I found out that the beacon light was rated for up to 72 v and was wired into the ignition and f/r switch, thus pulling all 36 v when the led light is rated for 12 v. I have already replaced the solenoid (didn't activate but not sure if it was bad now), f/r switch (definitely bad, no continuity between the constant and either the f or r) and ignition (also bad, no continuity with switch in on position). It appears that the previous owners bypassed the reed switch as it is missing and the white charger terminal is pulling 36v constantly without the charger plugged in and there is continuity between the J1 position 4 plug and the white charger port wire. I still have no power getting to the ignition and f/r switch. The new solenoid is still not clicking. I have 36v on the battery side of the solenoid and 35-36 on the other large post (forgive me, my voltmeter does not do decimals that I am aware of).

Would a bad controller cause all the switches to still not have power to them and are there any other things I can check that could cause these types of issues? Thank you in advance for any insight.

What is the best lift kit for a 2003 G22? I want to get larger tires for increased speed. This is mostly used on the street. Any place to get one fairly cheap?

'05 Precedent Run Away Motor Situation...

$

Hi, First off, I'm sorry for the long paragraph, but I need a second opinion. I have a 2005 Precedent that was non-operational. It would intermittently make an attempt to move, as if the solenoid was dropping out. While on jack stands, and testing things with a multimeter set to DC, I connected the probes to the small input connectors on the solenoid. Batteries at 51volts, and with the tow/run switch in the run position, keyswitch on, and the FNR switch in forward, I pressed the accelerator pedal four times. The first press, nothing, which is normal for a club car, I know. Second press, nothing. Still kinda normal. Third press, clicks twice and tires rotate slightly. Fourth press, wheels start rolling like there's nothing wrong with the cart. So I hold it for a minute to see if it's gonna shut down on it's own, when all of a sudden, it starts to run away, like a diesel engine. So I let go of the pedal, still going full send. So I shift to neutral, still going. Next I try the keyswitch, still going. Then I flipped the tow/run switch to tow, and it is still going, to which I hear the windings in the motor seperate and making an awful noise. At this point, the wheels are going so fast, the cart is starting to vibrate so hard, it's about to jump off the jackstands, so I grab a wrench and disconnect the batteries and it finally, gradually slows down until it comes to a stop. What would you suspect that would cause this?

Bringing life to used batteries

I purchased a cart with basically dry batteries I've added distilled water and have done the proper charging techniques and have gotten them to hold a charge about 54-55 volts. But once I go about 2.5 - 4 miles I'm down to 45 volts and the cart is sluggish. Has anyone bought the battery acid replacement pack from your local battery/ automotive store??? And if so did it work. I think maybe if I remove the electrolytes and safe them for later use I can put the acid then charge and top off from there to get atleast double the drive time. ???? I'm hoping someone might have tried this

Hello have not posted for some time. I now have a Yamaha gas been running fir 3 years . Started right up this spring. We use it in campground. Stated smoking almost immediately. started using oil. by week 2 started backfiring and loss of power. Did not have time for it so parked it. Is it worth tearing down and rebuilding? believe it to be early 2000s. I have it tucked away right now. Will get vin later. I have many years as a auto tech. Just looking for advice

2011 Yamaha 48V 6-seater is very slow

$

Last week a friend gave me his 2011 Yamaha 48V 6-seater golf cart. Model YDREX, JW9-F4236-01. It was rarely used.

At first it wouldn't charge, but I found out that the Trojan batteries were run down very low. I charged each battery individually and then I was able to get the Yamaha charger to work. It charges up fine now and all batteries read 8.1 or 8.2V. The total pack voltage is 49.5V.

After I got the batteries charged I took the cart out for a spin. It is incredibly slow. My phone's MPH app said my top speed was 10 mph. I realize that it's a 6-seater, but d@mn this thing is slow. Is this normal? If not, what can I do to speed this beast up? New controller? My plan is to lift this thing 6" and put 23" tires on it. That should give me a few MPH, but I want this this to get this cart into the mid-20s.

Also, how do I know what "G" model this cart is? Is it a G29? Is it a DRIVE model? Thanks in advance.

Hill climbing

At the end of the summer my DS stopped climbing the hills as easy as before.

I’m guessing it’s time to review the clutches. What do I review and measure to see what needs to be replaced?
