My series txt stutters when I push on the gas pedal. Batteries are 2017 so shouldn’t be bad yet right? Solenoid and pedal switch replaced this summer. Could it be the controller or some loose connection? Thanks all

Bench Vises - Best quality

Looking for a bench vise. I want one that I'm never going to have to replace. Something used a few times a week but not daily or heavily. I just don't want to replace it.

Trying to not go harbor freight so I figured Id see if anybody knows anytyhing around here.

Have heard names like Wilton, Brund, Older (20+ years) craftsman, thrown around have no experience.

Just quick googling had me find a used Wilton 450 locally for $200, and a new one is $800. I see theres a big collector market for Wiltons so I also don't want to pay premium just because of a name (Similar to the premiums people pay for griswold cast iron vs the rest)

any tips or info is appreciated

23hp Vanguard idle

I am having trouble with my idle on our 23 hp golf cart. It will idle too hi to engage the clutch. We have tried to lower the idle with mixed results. I have even thought about taking off the governor because it seems like when we get the idle low enough the gov kicks the idle back up. Anyone else experience this?

The reed switch has been bypassed the throttle pin is set at 17/64. There is a New Speed controller Alltrax 500 XCT 48500 (programed on EZGO ITS) and New Solenoid Curtis Albright SW180-500apms.

Cheers,

1990 Robin won't fire

I have a 1990 EZGO w/a robin engine, I've got 140lbs compression, good looking fire at the plug but it won't fire at all even using starting fluid. My Dad bought it a few yrs back, it sat in the barn since then. Wiring all looks good, turns over great, like I said, has good blue fire at the plug, got me a bit baffled.

Flat spots in tires

Ok... I’m not sure if there’s a true answer to this so here goes... the last set of tires on my cart had flat spots because I let it sit too long. So what is too long for a cart to sit? A week, a few weeks a month?

New 2019 Adventurer lack of power

I just bought a new 2019 and it seems to have a less power that my 2017 Fleet QuieTech. I'm judging this by a hill climb from the lake to the house It's about a 22 degree incline up a paved drive. The 2017 will actually accelerate up the hill, and the new cart seems to lose power for the first 1/2, and then maintains. With 4 people in the cart, it makes it up, but struggles. The 2017 climbs with 4 people at a steady pace. The 2019 just seems sluggish overall. It runs fine, and climbs to top speed, but just seems slower to accelerate and definitely less power climbing the hill.

I've adjusted the governor on the the 17 for a top speed of about 19mph. I've adjusted the governor on the 19 for a top speed of about 17mph.

The 2017 has 22" tires and a 3" lift. The 2019 comes stock with a 2" lift and 20" tires and I have not changed it.

Is there a "break-in" period where the 2019 will gain power after some time? Should I take back to the dealer because something is wrong? Any help or ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!

2014 Drive A Few General Problems I'm Having

Hey everyone Ive been reading some stuff on this forum for quite a while and finally decided to post my questions. I purchased a 2014 Gas Yamaha drive. It is lifted and has 23 inch tires. When I purchased it I GPS'd it at 17mph. I purchased it after a quick spin around the block. Not knowing much about the particulars of one of these carts but being pretty mechanically inclined I figured I could pretty much figure anything out about it. Upon bringing it home I noticed that When I come to stop signs and don't make a complete stop just kind of coast to a near stop and press the accelerator I get a pretty consistent backfire. Sometimes its worse sounding extremely loud and on occasion its swoosh air sound but primarily gunshot sounding. I checked the governor and the base of the nut was about 1.5inches away from the end of the all thread. I have moved it all around I have tightened it all the way down to the base and gotten 20mph but it becomes more prone to backfires. I have also brought it down to 14mph (about 1 inch from the end of the all thread) and it is still prone to backfires but not as consistent. With all that being said I've taken the carb off and there is slack on the throttle cable at the carb and at the governor. I didn't take the carb apart but from a visual inspection without going in depth it Was surprisingly clean. I noticed a small amount of oil in the air box if that means anything (sorry if thats kind of a random statement). But im just not quite understanding this backfire completely. Do I need to do a valve adjustment? Should I tear the carb apart? Also don't those speeds sound kind of off? I would have expected 12-15mph stock on stock tires and 20mph with the governor nut screwed all the way down. I only get 20mph with the nut all the way down on 23 inch tires. I would have assumed 20mph would have nearly been obtained by simply increasing the tire size with no governor adjustments.

Windshield for 2014 TXT body

I installed a 2014 TXT body on a 2006 TXT cart. The front roof frame is 3/4” with an extended 80” roof. I believe the roof supports are higher on the 2006 than the 2014+ models along with having 1” supports rather than the 3/4”. The shape of the cowl is a little different also.
My question is what windshield needs to go on it, the 96-2013 or the 2014+?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

Clutch won’t engage

Hello, I have 2 Yamaha G9 golf carts. One stopped working a few months ago. I replaced the relay because it was not getting enough juice to the starter generator. It turns over now but the engine will not fired up. I checked the spark plug and it has sparks but weak. I spray starter fluid into the carburetor but it will not fire up. Is it the coil, spark plug or something else? Thanks.

Now, golf cart #2 stop working today. The engine runs, fired up but the clutch will not engage. The sliding sheave will not move toward the engine like it used to. I took the cover off and everything looks good, no broken parts. I sprayed WD40 on the flyweights but no luck. Do I need to replace the entire clutch or is there something else I can try before replacing it? Thank you.

1980 electric Marathon identification

Hi all! I'm new to the site and new to the world of golf carts. I recently purchased a very old electric ezgo cart at a sale. It came with zero paper work and it needs a lot of work. I did some research online and I think I have a 1980 marathon. Can anyone confirm? I need to order parts to rebuild/restore and I want to make sure I'm ordering correctly. Also, would anyone happen to have access to any manuals specific to my cart? They are crazy expensive online! Thanks and I appreciate any help or advice! (I will post ID pics here)

Looking for a off road cart to build. Gas or Electric?

Hey gang. Hopefully this post is in the right spot. Looking to purchase a cart that me and my boys can take hunting with us. It will also be used for neighborhood riding but want to be able to take on some trails as well. That being said I'm not sure if should be looking for an electric cart with a motor and controller upgrade or a gas cart with an upgraded engine? I've seen a few sites with complete gas engine kits but I feel like I need more torque than anything. The Navitas controller with the " On the Fly" controller also seemed appealing because of the ability to control speed/torque. Not sure if the cart brand would make any difference either?

rusted battery frames

So I have a TXT that I just purchased w/o batteries. The frame is in good shape, but the battery tray is beyond repair. Just curious what people were doing to repair this? I've seen a few sites that sell replacements but $$$. If I have to so be it but wondering if there's a better way. Thanks
Nick

RXV with 6 Trojan Batteries Rundown Quick

$

I put 6 Trojans in my 2015 RXV last year in May and they are already down to the 70% range only a mile out of the drive way. I leave my cart plugged in all the time if it sits a couple days I unplug it and plug back up to recharge from sitting. I know your going to say load test and all that and im not really sure how to do that and when is the best time and all that? I have never really been happy with the range of the 6 battery setup. Could my cheap Chinese converter be draining them? I have headlights is all on it. Also I put water in them a week or two ago after noticing they were low. Before I get out of the driveway it says 95% but its always been like that and that could be due to the accuracy of the gauge. Just need some help. I doubt anyone in my town knows to much about RXV's.

tire psi on 23" tires

I have a 6" lift with 23" tires / 14" wheels. I read somewheres that its best to run tires at 25ish PSI to basically help the cart spin better and put less stress on factory motor and controller.

Anyone tried this before? im sure it'll make ride rougher but my cart stays on neighborhood roads.

I wouldnt mind getting another 1or so mph and having less strain on motor if it'll help.
