Parting out an ezgo 295. Pulled from a 98 txt. Was told it ran,but smoked. Engine was already pulled when I bought the cart so I cant verify, but I can say with certainty I dont think there was a seal or gasket still holding oil in :lhmo: it is disassembled now, I wanted to make sure there were no broken rods or anything. It did have compression when turning over by hand.
Head looks good, but will need intake valves. Camshaft and everything look good. Engine was surprisingly clean inside. Crankshaft will need to be drilled out and re-tapped or replaced. Previous owner tried a DIY clutch puller and its mushroomed inside the end of the crank pretty good. There is a little cut from where I cut the clutch off on the tapered end but I dont think that would really hurt anything. Otherwise the crank itself looks okay. Cylinders look great, no ridge no scoring.
Overall lots of good parts or a rebuildable motor, the only issue I see is the crank and intake valves.
I also have all the electronics (ignitor, etc) carb, etc.
Make offer for parts or everything, selling to fund a big block in this one. Theres just too much wrong or missing, so cost prohibitive to rebuild to stock (muffler is cut, airbox gone, skid plate missing, clutch destroyed, etc). I just wanted to give you guys a chance before I throw it up on Ebay.
