Zone or Star Cart Solenoid Connection Question (48v)

I have a 2010 Zone Cart that I have pulled the solenoid and ordered a new SW80B-156 from China, but I just realized I didn't take note of how the 2 wires were connected on the bottom of the solenoid. One is black with a #6 on it and the other is yellow with a #10.
These go on the slide terminals on the bottom of the solenoid. Any help would be appreciated.
Picture of solenoid attached for reference.

DC CONVERTER problem

OK.....I have one of scottys DC Converters. I have the POWER and GROUND going to the pack.....and the trigger wire to a toggle switch.....then to the pack. I have this exact set up on my other cart.

On this build.....If the switch is ON.....everything works like a champ....everything......but as soon as I flip the trigger wire switch OFF......the it gets hotter than a fire cracker like there is a dead short....but if the switch is OPEN or in the OFF position....how can that be???

I even pulled my cart over next to this one and made a jumper to check things out so it wouldn't effect this cart as the drive system is totally separate to the lights.......and it acted the exact same way!!!!

WHAT THE HECK????

PowerDrive3 Charger issue

So a couple weeks ago I completed my 2012 Precedent rehab which included brand new batteries. I charged the cart and everything worked properly. Took it down to Ohio for a trip and everything was still working while there. After I got back I put the charger back on, it kicked on and started charging so I let it go. I went back to double check and the charger had shut of too quickly so I unplugged it from the cart and plugged it back in. This time the needle went to 10 amps or so but wasnt steady but more like vibrating very fast and then the breaker kicked. Thats all it does now.

1313-3301

I have just got my first hand held tester. 1313-3301 trying to use it on a 2013 RXV. Is this ok ?
I have a few question, since there was not any instruction with it.
First off , it did not have batteries...Install used ones (not sure if they are real good) get new ones soon. Problem I hooked it up to the cart and pushed power button. Display come on for a second then goes off. Don't know if that is batteries or cart. and I'm not sure what part the cart plays in power to the tester. The pack voltage is 49.8 volt is that enough for tester to work. Right now the cart will not run, solenoid will not click. The only part I new to change, was the charger receptacle and the only part I had. That didn't fix it.
If you can help me with any of these problems, I thank you.

EZGO PDS Issues after Alltrax48400PDS install

Gents First time post'r but long time reader,
BL I have a EZGO PDS cart, 23 inch tires, that we upgraded with the Alltrax XCT400PDS controller, 2G cables, and updated solenoid. No issues prior to the upgrade just wanting a little more performance going up and down hills in the neighborhood with the backseat full of kiddos. Been about 3 months since the upgrade and we have enjoyed the better performace but started having periodic issues with the cart shuddering on start, but normally just a recylcle of the F/R switch and we are back off and running. Well this problem has been getting worse (as most of them do when you ignore them and hope they go away) and the other day we got stranded at the community pool. After doing some trouble shooting with the Alltrax controller it showed a "low battery fault" (1 green followed by 2 red). I checked the batteries, and they showed 37.5v (6.25,6.24,6.24,6.23,6.23,6.25) and 36.7 with the peddle down with no go. After I got it running I saw the volts went down to 28.3 (the controller low voltage was set at 28 ) with each batt at 5.1,5.0,4.8,4.0,4.5,4.9. going up big hills. The kicker is the performance is still pretty good, when it does want to go, and gets us where we need to go.
So all that said, besides a new set of batteries (saving up for the 48 volt upgrade next year), how does one keep this cart running in the mean time? Is there another issue I should be looking at? A setting you can adjust on the Alltrax controller that lower the threshold for the low battery fault?

What Gauge wire for S1 / S2 ?

As I am looking at the old cables from my 99 TXT DCS (Sepex), getting ready to build new ones, I am finding that the S1 and S2 cables appear to be about 10 gauge wire. Is that sufficient, or should I go ahead and make up some 2 GA cables for those as well?

Help! What is it??

Hey everyone, I'm new here and looking for help identifying what I just bought.

I know it's a 36v industrial cart once used at an airport. The only identifying mark is an emblem on the back and reads Columbia Car Corporation, Charlotte, NC. I have searched and can't find ANYTHING made by Columbia which even resembles it. I've seen some Taylor Dunn carts which look closer but still not identical.

I can find no other remaining tags or labels. If it helps, it has a GE motor and a 7 solenoid setup. It also has a fiberglass body. I'm guessing it's from the late 60s or early 70s but have NO IDEA. I apologize for the picture quality. I just realized how bad it is.

The good news is it runs, the tires, brakes and suspension are all good, AND, most importantly, it came with a SWEET and working am/fm 8 track player!!! I know, be jealous!

Anyone? Anyone???

Thanks in advance.

1987 Marathon - creative modification to F/R switch??

1987 fully upgraded to 48 volts with new everything from Scotty.
Havent figured reverse out yet. But I noticed that if I manually depress the 1/2 speed microswitch then reverse works just fine at full speed.

Anyway, studying the f/R switch, I see it pretty much just that circle with the four contacts on the back, the circumference has a couple notches to open/close the microswitches depending on knob position, and there is that metal bar that is bolted to the face that is essentially there to not let the knob be rotated beyond forward or reverse.

My run switch is open in forward or reverse, but no where in between. The 1/2 speed switch is open in reverse and closed in forward.

My question is that will I do any harm if I unbolt that metal bar and rotate it 90 degrees such that the run switch stays closed in either position but the half speed switch stays closed in both positions?? That would make both forward and reverse work, only both will be at full speed. Those contactors on the back of the F/R all look to be the same. Pic shows the modification I am talking about.

I understand that this isn't the organic way to do it, but I've got to get this thing wrapped up and move along to so many other projects around the house. I could make a new notch in that plastic circular piece to make sure that the run switch is always open when the knob is in forward or reverse

Motor labeling help

Hi everyone-

I have a 1988 Club Car DS that I’m going to upgrade using Scottyb’s conversion kit, and I have a question about the motor.

It doesn’t seem like the terminals are labeled- I know it’s a series motor. I attached a picture of it. Is there anybody that can tell me which terminals are the A1, A2, S1, and S2?

Thank you!
Luke

I will want to lift the DS and put in a performance motor, controller lift body accessories etc. I don't want to buy a machine that I will have limited ability to build on.

In the bag well of my 2009 Club Car there is an access panel that is held in place by 2 "plastic" pins. How do I remove these pins so that I can take off the access panel? Once this panel is removed I can get to the motor.

I know been asked hundreds of times.

First off we don't ride alot like we used too years ago.
So trying to see if ah is the only thing or brand quality that important? Also giving perfect flat ground 10 mph nonstop on 36v cart what would be real world difference of 215ah versus 235 ah?

Looking at.
Duracell 215ah at sams $84.52
Or local gc shops can get me
Crown 220 for $101.95
Crown 235 for $105.95
Powertron for $99.95
T-105s for $119.95
Leaning towards the duracell since we don't ride much like we used too.

Curtis 1204 Throttle Input

How do you know the exact throttle input that a given Curtis 1204 series controller is programmed for? All of the model numbers are in the form of 1204-XXX. In doing my own research, the throttles seem to be all over the place. Some are 0-5k, others 5k-0, or even EZGO ITS. In the Curtis 1204/1205 manual, it states that they all accept a 0-5k signal, but I have found that not to be the case. Any insight would be appreciated.

2012 Precedent PH, speed code 4 options

$

I recently picked up out first golf cart, a 2012 Precedent with a PH serial number. I am looking for options to upgrade to speed code 4. The nearest CC dealer is about a 2 hour round trip, and would like to know if there is an option to pull my controller and ship it to a dealer to be programmed. The cart is stock, and I don't plan on a lift kit or oversize tires. Just looking to get a little closer to 20 MPH on a budget. Right now the cart tops out at about 11.5 MPH. The cart has new batteries and a rear facing flip seat.

Thanks for any thoughts or suggestions!
